Through this Marine Photography Guide, we have a great exclusive review for the Fuji FinePix XP30 Water-proof Digital Camera…

I just purchased a Fuji Waterproof XP30 digital camera as a small and compact camera intended for each day use. I do have a couple of semi-professional digital camera models, but this specific one seemed compact enough to cart it about with me all the time. And since I actually do travel a lot I thought that Fuji XP30 digital cameras\’ GPS Geo-tagging function would certainly help make my pictures tagging quicker and much easier. Which brought me to my very first frustration with Fuji XP30:

I still haven\’t figured it out yet the best way to tag the images using real place names, and I\’m certainly not the newbie with regards to waterproof cameras. All I managed to get was a list with the regional locations (latitudes and longitudes). On the constructive side, the standard of the pictures taken using the Fuji XP30 Camera really is excellent, even when put to use as an idiot camera with automatic settings.

If the GPS navigation location problem was in fact the only one I would say that this Fuji camera is really worth the dollars I purchased it for ( about 150$), but there\’s an even greater dilemma: the battery of the XP30 digital camera runs extremely fast, in the matter of hours. You possibly can make it carry on a little longer if you shut off the actual GPS location searching, however you will still require an extra battery in order to benefit from it for more than 4-5 hours. To make the trouble even worse, the Fuji XP30 digital camera started up inadvertently in my pocket a couple of times and the battery was already drained even before I tried to capture my first picture.

The best thing about Fuji XP30, when used for out-of-doors activities, is that this digital camera is really sturdy and in all probability it won\’t break the first time it inadvertently slips out of your hand and strikes the floor. Actually, I did have several incidents and I can\’t see a single scratch on it. Regarding the water-proof aspect, I primarily tested the Fuji XP30 digital camera while in the sea up to 2 meters and underneath the shower (to clean the sea salt off) and seemed to be okay. The size of Liquid crystal display is actually 2.7\”, which is okay, however their promise of anti-reflective display which can be used even in the brilliant sunshine showed clearly not to be correct.

The Auto-focus function and picture stabilization of Fuji XP30 digital camera for taking the photo of moving things did the trick very well. I tested it while shooting the pics of the kids riding their cycles and every time the image was well focused and razor-sharp.

Taking the videos with Fuji XP30 digital camera is easy and the standard of the video is really good. Yet I had major problems with the actual audio while taking the videos. First of all, I could not transfer the audio. Then, after spending loads of time twiddling with the different features on the Fuji XP30 and on the provided computer software the audio did turn up, but it was totally out of sync. Making it all the more frustrating, whilst zooming in or out while recording any video clip you can hear the zoom action in the video clip afterward.

In summary, if you want to use the Fuji XP30 camera for daily use or you\’re having the problem with accidentally damaging your digital cameras it\’s almost certainly worth the money you\’ll pay for it. However, if you don\’t get the chance to constantly charge your battery packs you should try to find something else.
