hi thanks so much for this vid – your pics are stunning!
just a quick question. what filters would you recommend? i am just about to buy a circular polarising filter, but can i replicate ND in photoshop?

Those are not paper. They are graduated ND (neutral density) filters. They are transparent at the bottom half so that you can balance the exposure between bright sky and the foreground. With a point and shoot, you don’t have much control in exposure and you cannot have the effect of wide angle lenses.

@GreatPhotographyTips Love your videos and have taken some seascape shots recently myself but it was very windy and the problems i had were keeping the tripod steady and spray from the sea off my lens. Any advise?. Think i need a stronger tripod and not shoot when its so windy?

These were great shots, but could you ssllooww down a bit, and explain more about what you are doing, so learners could perhaps pick up more tips.

Most places don’t mind you using your tripod, some of the really touristy areas are packed with people using tripods, however a few of the places needed permits. These were normally the privately owned or commercial areas. They only really have a problem with it if you are going to sell the photos if you are a professional. If you are going there as a tourist and the photos are for personal use then they generally don’t mind.

Great video. How did you manage to use a tripod at all those places in Paris? Most places in Paris don’t allow tripods. Please let me know since I will be there soon.
